Gone are the days of Summer.. Hello fall

Summer has come to an end.  Another fall is upon us.

I'll start with a happy note.

Our niece Elizabeth was married on September 26th. She is now Mrs. Evan Busenitz. Wow! Such exciting news! Great way to end our Summer. Welcome to the family Evan! Congratulations you two newlyweds! Beautiful wedding. We all flew out to Wichita, Kansas and they were married on his parents property. Such fun seeing everyone. Everyone has grown up so much.

So, I just added a picture! Have no clue how. But, aren't these two cuties!
I wish them all the happiness!

Erin's knee is finally better. Not all the way, but very close.
His job is good. Mikey has joined him, he now works with Erin. Good for them. Back together!

My job is good.

Our house is still a work in progress.

Lucy and Melvin are good. All family here is good. We did sadly lose a cousin this past month unexpectedly, - Sonia- prayers and thoughts with her family. Very shocking sad unexpected news. Gone to soon.

Expecting Erin's parents this month. This will be first time they have come down.

Also would love it if I could finally connect with my cute sailor ...he knows who he is. Miss you!

We've discovered lots of great places to go, restaurants to eat at, wineries to enjoy. This weekend is fleet week in San Francisco. We will ride over for the day.

Bring on Fall! Miss you Summer...but we need the rain!

Summer is here!

June started off  like Spring, but is sure ending like Summer. We actually hit 100 today! Love it!
The month was quite fast and busy. Brother Gary came for a week to visit. Erin had good time. Rode to Reno stayed one night and had a good visit with his brother. And then some friends from Roseville came to visit. Had such a good time with DB and Deb. We did so much it was like we were visiting Sonoma county too!  We also made a trip to Roseville to visit Dave and Moni. Love the fountains :)

We both have this Friday off for the 4th of July, which falls on Saturday. Excited to just have a weekend to hang. Fireworks, literally surround us. Bodega bay, Sebastopol, Johnson beach, Santa Rosa, Windsor, Healdsburg, heck, anywhere over the bay. We'll probably do Sebastopol and Santa Rosa. Maybe go for a ride this weekend. Maybe ride our bikes on joe rodada trail to Sebastopol. Who knows.. You know I hate planning. So, you and I will only know when I actually do it!

Happy 4th of July!!

Memorial Day weekend

We are at the "official" start of summertime. Only it is feeling a little more like going into fall. Kinda been a little chilly out. Foggy in the morning, sometimes letting up. And other days not so much.
Yesterday, we took Lucy and a fried chicken deli picnic to the beach. Awesome day. The clouds opened up for us and it was gorgeous. Thank you cloud Gods! I was needing a good Sun day.. Funny it was actually Sunday too :)

Other than that, this past month has brought us a few welcomed, and surprised visitors.
My nephew Dante surprised us. Great time visiting him. He flew down to Utah from Alaska bought a car drove from Utah to visit. Super cool. And drove all the way back, not taking any ferry short cuts! Very cool, and wow! That really means he's grown up. Time just flys.

My sister-n-law Geri also made a surprise visit. We had such a good relaxing visit with her. It was short, but good.  Wish it was longer. Took her to a couple wineries and for a good breakfast/lunch of chicken and waffles. We all had a good visit.

Then Mother's Day Lourdes surprised us with a overnight visit. We all took her to Brasa, this brasilian restaurant in town. Real good, super filling food.. Actually overload of food.

Update on home-front...

Erin's knee is slowly but surly healing..it's taken a few rounds of physical therapy and exercise. But, he's getting better. Love him❤️

He's put up new ceiling fans in all the rooms. Getting ready for when summer really hits. (Hopefully soon)

We are considering a remodel, we would like our kitchen and baths done. So we're gathering lots of quotes. Ugh. Don't thing we'll ever afford life. We'll see on that. And I will keep updates. This will definitely be awhile.

I'm liking my job. Low stress.. No complaints here.

Our birthdays have come and gone. Our 22nd wedding anniversary is on the 29th. 💜

Memorial Day weekend is at its end today. We planted plants, worked around here. Ran over to the coast..visited with friends. We could always use one more down day. But, grateful for the time we had. And it was off together.

Quote I found, thought I'd share:

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.
It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow."

Spring fever

We moved in to this house 8 months ago and I am itching to have the backyard and front yard beautiful. The guy that lived here before us just had a low maintence look. The landscape consists of rock, grass and well, that's it. You can tell he threw in a plant or bush here and there to make it have "curb appeal". Not ugly. But, not me. I'm really wanting to make it to be more cozy and inviting and I want a garden so bad. Dilemma, I also want the inside to be more inviting...what do you choose to work on first?  My brain is all over the place. From ideas on the kitchen. To making our front room more open. Should I box up and sell stuff to make more room?? Help me. I wish I could make this place organized and homey. Instead of a work in progress. Like, Overnight. I know this stuff takes time. But, wishing is ok, right?

Update on the knee.. Erin went to a "Dr." For a second and third opinion. He, they, want Erin to get full movement, extention, before deciding any further. So, he is scheduled with PT for the 27th. Poor guy, poor knee. I think it's coming around. Slowly, but making process.

My work is good. Still working! Yay.

I Made It!!

Thought I'd write a quick note saying, I made it! My first day, over. Just like my nerves. Had to be worse than the first day of school. Thank you God. I really found myself talking to him a lot thru this. Everyone was nice and I made it. I guess this job was meant to be, so I'm thrilled. Now, I'm just back in the game. Yay!

Erin went for his second opinion. The Dr. Said it looks completely torn to him. Bummer news. He wants him to get full motion of his leg before surgery. I'm still trying to process this. Really angry at this whole process. A complete tear of the ACL... Doesn't want to compute in my head. Ugh.. I almost had our life back to normal. Now I need to find a stationary bike for him.

Well,...

I made it! And so will he, or "Us" We're in this together for the long hall...

Life as I knew it..over!

Well, then...so, here I was thinking that the interview I went to would be a practice run. Must have done something right. I have a job! Starting 4/2/15...exciting, and scared and sad all at once. Thank you, God. Interviews are scary. And I think I will like it. I will just miss my little Lucy goo, and Melvin mittens. Holy cannoli! I am a working woman! Sitting here realizing it's my last Monday not working so I have been running around like crazy trying to get everything done that I wanted to get done in the last few months! Go figure, procrastinater!
On the Erin update, turns out we are going to get second opinion. I looked at his radiologist report and it says right on there "complete tear ACL" I was quite unhappy that we were not told of this issue. So, I requested all of the Dr.s clinic / progress notes. Get this, All the Dr. Put down was, "spoke to patient" seriously??? So, people be your own advocate. When they say practicing medicine, they literally mean, "practicing" and guess who is the Ginny pig? What a shame, is all I have to say right now. Poor, poor, Doctoring. So we will see.
Our house is still a work in progress, that has been kinda put on hold due to Erin's knee.
We finished watching Sons of Anarchy, all 7 seasons in 5 1/2 weeks!! Crazy, brutal, but addicting. Glad it's over,...but, will miss it a little ;)
Now, it's just Survivor and Amazing Race.....Oh, and General Hospital

Spent this last weekend with some ol friends, blended our own wine. Very fun. Great people. And ended the weekend making new friends. Put out all our backyard umbrellas and cushions. Looking forward to making lots of new memories in our new home. Now my husband needs to heal.

So, this is it, life for me, is changing daily....I guess that's a good thing. Change is good

St. Patrick's Day

So, Every year wether  we love it or not I make corned beef and cabbage.. I guess, because, it's a holiday, and to change things up from regular dinners. One day, dedicated to a food, that normally, I would not cook. But, My husband does have some Irish in him. So, we will celebrate it. Today, though, I decided it will either be, corned beef and collard greens or kale because that's what I have. Debating on running to the store to get cabbage. I probably will not, since it seems silly. It's just us. And it will be fun changing it up.  I will just cook them on the side. I added a Lost Coast brewing company IPA to the crockpot . Instead of water. I think it will come out just fine. I will keep you posted. Just came home from lunch with my neighbor, met her at work and we went to Crepevine. First time I've had a crepe sandwich thingy.. Very good. I had "the Philly" love finding new places. Now, I'm hoping I didn't ruin my dinner, cause I'm full... Ugh..I'm sure I'll make room for some later.

We are now on Season 6 episode 3 of sons of anarchy. Don't start if you didn't watch! Warning! Very addictive and brutal. Thankfully, I think there is only 7 seasons. Crazy, crazy show. It will make you bonkers. Just keeping up with everything is crazy. It has kept Erin down, so that's been good. I do enjoy Jax Teller :)

  • Well, house smells yummy, doors are all open. Gorgeous Day. Happy St.Pattys Day
